Volunteering

ARK is comprised of compassionate, skilled, creative, and dedicated people. Most of our volunteers work from home on their own schedule. If you would like to share your time and talent and be part of the team, please review the following positions. For more information, contact us.

Ongoing Needs

Trainers and Behaviorists: ARK needs professionals to provide consultations, conduct behavior evaluations, and/or provide a few sessions so that dogs with behavioral issues are: (1) behaviorally healthy for adoption, and (2) properly networked for adoption. We need trainers who use positive reinforcement and fear-free techniques. In your email, please provide your certification information, website, and a summary of your experience.

Foster Homes: Our collaborating shelters and rescues are continuously looking for fosters with experience in behavioral issues such as prey drive, resource guarding, fear-based behavior, stranger danger, and/or dog reactivity are often needed so that dogs who are struggling in a shelter can decompress and prepare for adoption in a real home. Please complete the Adoption/Foster Application and indicate that you are interested in Fostering a Dog in Need.

Grant Writers: Experienced grant writers are needed to help us fund training, spay/neuter, board and train programs, and veterinary care. Grant writers are responsible for searching for grant opportunities, writing and submitting proposals, and submitting timely and accurate reports for existing grant-funded projects.
